It's the same principle as being the least important cast member. If the conductor is an asshole, he's going to pick on you because he CAN. Sounds like your bosshole is doing the same thing.

It's more like this. She's beyond disorganized and she's the managing partner. I have no idea how this happened. I spent all day yesterday working on her speech for the Holiday Party. First there is her handwriting. Now I get sloppy handwriting. I actually have pretty good penmanship when I'm not in a hurry. But the problem with deciphering this childish scrawl was that she can't spell and she has a tendency to leave out words. Very unlawyerly in my experience. They tend to be detail oriented, especially with language, in the extreme. A lot of what she wrote barely made sense. Fortunately one of the paralegals was able to help me. The speech was a big bomb and I don't think she knows. I heard tales. She made a couple of "comic" references to a notoriously high profile client that did NOT go over with the other senior partners. She's completely clueless that she offended
