A week or so after she had spoken to Chelsea, Billie sat on her bed in her apartment and stared at the phone. Hunter had taken Mackenzie and Casey to a carnival down the street, allowing her a little time to talk to Eric

Eric's sitting at the kitchen table going through stuff from work. Feeling a little frustrated from sitting too long with really no progress, he quickly gets up from the chair as he mutters, "Oh, thank God," to himself when the phone rings.

"Hello?" he says when he picks up the phone.

Billie is almost sure it's going to go to voicemail when she suddenly hears Eric's voice. She feels her heart drop to her feet as an icy adrenaline shoots up through her body. Finally, she speaks.

"Uh...hi." she manages. "Eric."

Eric's eyes widen briefly when he realizes who it is. "Uh, hey!"
