[Have a boy of the awkward teenaged geeky variety watching you curiously, kid.

Although really he seems more interested in the jar than...pretty much anything else in the room, boy and glowing ball included.]

[The boy jumps, startled, before going up to his journal, blue book still in hand, and sitting down in front of it.]

Is this some kind of magic mirror? [He taps the screen with his finger.] And this isn't my room. I don't know where I am, but this is obviously a mage's room, so those are probably spell components.

It's either a computer or a phone; I'm still trying to figure it out. Although a magic mirror would be kind of cool. Like He-Man and shit.

[Pause for consideration, and then he just looks mildly lost in the conversation; he adjusts his glasses, like that's really going to help anything, but it's a nervous tic anyway.]

What d'you mean, a mage's room? There's no such thing, they're just in movies and shit.

I don't know what those things are, but of course mages are real. Otherwise they wouldn't have mage schools and mage towers and stuff.
