Someone in Istanbul hacked my facebook account. Luckily, FB caught it and notified me and I have now changed my password. There must be some monetary reason for hacking FB accounts, because I don't know anyone in Istanbul. -

Thank God John sent Kindra and me with a pair of towels. Which we kept wet and around our necks all day. It made the difference between bearable and heat stroke.
Tomorrow it's only supposed to be in the 90s. Notice the way I phrased that. Only in the 90s. If it hadn't been for those wet towels, the hundred degree heat we were in today might ( Read more... ) -

Well, I don't think it was food poisoning. John ate Kindra's leftovers with no ill effect, and now I'm suffering from nausea.
The timing is not good on this. I have a show this weekend.

Poor Henrietta. I was going to keep sewing during the fireworks, but instead I am sitting on the computer with Henrietta hiding under my desk between my feet. I just didn't have the heart to make her sit out in the open with all that scary noise happening. -

Finally, we have power, water, and electricity. The skirt that should have been dyed last week is being dyed today. Yay!
In the meantime, I've been working ahead on other stuff because letting work come to a stop is stupid.

I take it back. The AC is out. Repairman coming tomorrow. In the meantime, the house is hot. -

Was starting to think the AC was out. Power was on, but the house was still over 80•. Checked to see what it was set at. 73•. And cool air was not coming out of the vents. Then John took a closer look. The switch was turned to fan not cool.
The house is still hot, but at least cool air is coming out of the vents.

So last night I desperately wanted to do something and also wanted watermelon. I called Theresa to see if she had power and since she did we headed to the Giant in Calverton.
Got two watermelons, two loaves of bread, and some Excedrin equivalent. Took one of the watermelons to Theresa's and hung out until a quarter to eleven.

Well that's a useful app. Just went to the PEPCO site and downloaded their map to tell me where the outages are.
I can now see it at a glance. It doesn't tell me when a particular place will get power, but I can get a good idea whether an area has it or not without making a phone call or getting in the car.
