xposting to my personal and doll journals (my battery is dying and I can't find an outlet? *unplugs lamp* >_>) If you are on my personal journal sorry for high doll randomness. I am currently out of town in Charleston, SC, got in this afternoon and will be here for a week visiting my great aunt and aunt.
Somehow I must have just missed the update when I checked, since apparently on Friday the results for the SD High Mode Competition were posted to the Volks site (Japanese side) on Friday. There is (from what I can read of it) a very nice
description of the contest (Volks knows how to write about things to make them special), and then the
results page.
Anyway: I didn't know about it until today, when I got an email from the coordinator, but I won the "President's Choice" award (I'm assuming they mean Mr. Shigeta).
Mine is here, just make sure you look at the other pages too since they're better pics than I could get (esp. w/bad BG at the Dolpa).
I already knew as of a couple weeks ago that Volks will be purchasing the outfit from me, to use in a display at Dolpa 20. Now I also have been invited to the awards ceremony there (*massive flail*). And, I know that Drift will be coming home to me within the next few days. They haven't mailed him yet, but that's fine since I'm not home anyway - hopefully we should hit home at the same time. I have really, really missed that boy.
That's just the info stuff, obviously! I'm really . . . honored kind of doesn't cut it, I have a great deal of respect for all the Volks artists, but the president is very much the heart, soul, and brains of the company that created these dolls that have become so precious to so many people. As frivolous as they may be, they've enriched my life very much. So if I can make an impression on him, then I've made an impression on a person whose opinion really matters to me. I was really pleased that he looked at it at the Dolpa and liked it.
So, um, the end lol. Though I wish very much that the stupid chest thing hadn't been on wrong in the photos ^^;;; Largely since it means you can't see the shoulder pieces like, at all . . . oh well. :| That's what I get for not taking some photos of the details myself. The horns are technically on sideways as well, but, honestly, they look cooler that way. :X Hahah. He looks rather bemused about the whole modeling thing . . .
