Thanks for writing this. I do love Laura. And I really like how you wrote her. I share her concern that we don't see enough of the old Lewis. But he's still in there! He still peeks out. Good job!
You've definitely got a way with words and I particularly loved the imagery. I could picture Robbie and Laura speaking the dialog as if I was watching them onscreen. And I love how James is concerned about his boss's welfare. Not much of a fan of Innocent's untimely interruption, though :(
You should consider a continuation or something similar. I'm definitely curious about the case Robbie seems to be obsessing over -- plenty of angst hinted at there, but that's just me talking.
I never thought before of exploring the case. Hmmn new plot bunny.
I do have several other ideas for them because I just love the interaction between Kevin Whately and Clare Holman. I think they have some wonderful chemistry.
As much as Lewis/Hathaway is my OTP within the Morse-Lewis series, I love Dr Laura Hobson and her obvious rapport with Robbie Lewis, so I could definitely see this happening. At least within the confines of the story. ;)
And hey, given the way Hathaway looks after Lewis, if Hathaway decided that Hobson was who Lewis needed, I can see him giving her a good nudge in Lewis's direction. And yes, getting himself ratted if he was nursing a case of the unrequiteds.
Seconding (thirding, fourthing, fithing) for more of this.
It was very important to me to get Laura right. I love that character to bits and have to make sure I do her justice. As for shippiness this is the House of Sap. LOL

I really have a huge affinity for Dr Hobson. Ever since her Morse days she's had some wonderful chemistry with the detectives she works with.
Thank you again.
