...And we're in the home straight. This episode kicks off the cancer arc which pretty much overshadows anything else that happens in the next four episodes

Maybe someone should have called Grandfther in to cure Wilson as well...

In hindsight it's obvious from Wilson's brief scenes that he is preoccupied with something else - it's not like House not to pick that up

It was pretty obvious that something was up, especially that scene where he was just sitting at his desk in his lab coat. And yes, it doesn't really seem like House to miss that -- I chalked it up to House being wrapped up in his Dominika situation.

I'm glad Dominika drew the line here. I guess she has a degree of mental health that the other characters lack.

Ha, this is the episode where I completely misheard Wilson at the end and thought he said he had a glioma instead of a thymoma. :-P

(A glioma would have made way more sense to me with Wilson's "kill it with fire" approach.)
