I'm confused - why would you post something you think sucks? If you're not proud of your work, refine it until you are *then* post it. Second, why are you holding the story hostage for a ransom of comments? Either you want to write it or you don't. It's considered bad form, in fandom, to do this and will, ultimately, turn more people away from your work than draw them toward it.

Thank you for warning me. I'm quite new to writing fandoms, though not new to LJ. I posted it because, though I didn't like the way it turned out, I needed a start to my story. I'm not going to write a senseless fifteen or so chapter fandom if no one is going to read it.

Understandable. I would suggest different wording then, something like 'This is the first chapter of a potentially longer story and I'd like some feedback on it - if it works, where it can be tweaked, etc...' - to indicate you're looking for constructive criticism (which I assume is the goal), then label it as a 'Work in Progress' (or WIP) and your readers will understand that it might still be in a pre-polished stage.
