Summary: House and Wilson go to Iowa.
Why does this fic belong in the Library?: This is a fantastic road trip fic, with great use of imagery -- soft and flowy, but not too 'romantic.'
Excerpt: Wilson looks out over the empty parking lot and the morning sky. The contrails above them have broken up over time and he is struck by the whole sweeping life to this moment; something subtle and alive, like sinew hidden in a plain, white bone. Something just below the surface. Teeming.
Now it seems like maybe there’s more then just this series of snapshots: the alien terrain of the mountains on the horizon, the patches of snow at the side of the road and this sloppy love: House’s hand over his on the hood of a Ford Taurus. A sub-level of life. A hidden depth.
He feels the scene reel like a tracking shot, zooming in and pulling out and providing a dizzying new view: Scottie’s panic from the window of the bell-tower, a trick of the eye.
