Summary: Ingrid the massage therapist assesses House’s body, discovering his past and his future.
Why Should It Be in the Hall of Fame? Written as a series of drabbles, this fic shows how much wealth of language and story telling is available even when using a very limited number of words. Both poetic and clinical in terms of word choice and the turns of phrase, it leaves an indelible image of the damaged condition of the body beneath the bravado.
Sample:
He has long, pale feet, just like the marble Christ in the cathedral, but she is certain anyone who walked as much as Jesus did not have such beautiful feet. This living foot is calloused but not rough. She glances at his shoes on the floor beside his clothes, and sees that the left one has more wear.
