Hmmm. Haven't been here very much lately, just stopped in to do the yard work and such. Gonna do a lot of round-tuit work that's been piling up, so that'll be good. ;)
In my other household, we found a place so I can get my girlfriend out of her very toxic householding situation.
It's really nice of you to help someone out of a toxic situation. We've done that several times. *chuckle* At one point, our friends were referring to our house as "the central Illinois Pagan homeless shelter."
My fun news this week -- the pears are ripe. I need to buy containers tomorrow so I can cook up a batch of pie filling. (These are cooking pears, not dessert pears.) Also I need to let local friends know that they can come start picking too.
Got to have a nice long hangout with ravan, covering our usual political and spiritual discourse and just catching up with what's been going on around here.
Then later had a lively chat with another of the clan about time travel and gaming and a shared universe he's been writing in. This may sound a little conceited, but I love having long chats with him; it's one of the few times I don't feel like I'm talking down to someone.

That makes perfect sense to me. I love hanging around with smart people.
Everyone in this house is crazy smart, and we all have our own specialities. He's the mad scientist.
If you were doing a found set on us, we have the same core beliefs: alternative spirituality, social justice/liberal politics, SF/Fantasy, gaming, etc. Then we each have our own strengths and weaknesses that all work together, somehow.
My stay here was originally temporary, and when we decided to make it more permanent, Ravan told me that I was the missing piece. They'd all been together a long time; he loves telling stories about "when we were at *that* house..."
I like being the beast of burden here, actually... helps me balance out the alpha male thing. That used to be his job, but he just physically can't do what he used to be able to do, and apparently I have the ability to coax him into supervising me doing the heavy lifting so his ego isn't too badly bruised.

That is so cool.

Kinda digressed there, didn't I?
We're all crazy and smart here. Love it. ;)
