Today I made it into US News and World Report just by answering the phone. A reporter called, looking for an expert on grammar, in order to clear up a recent mini-snafu concerning the presidential candidacy of Sen. Joe Biden. For the non-politicos, Biden recently launched a firestorm when, in a speech declaring his intent to run for the presidency

I had a high-school English teacher who struggled, against our teenage wills, to convince us that punctuation was actually critically important. I bet she'll be using this example for the rest of her career.
