Mine usually arrive in the middle of the night. My husband is more than used to finding me awake with pad and pencil in my hand under my little reading lamp.

If I don't they just disappear down their little burrows again.

Oh - I totally understand. I've taken to sleeping with a notebook and pen. There's no lamp by my bed, but I have a bad habit of falling asleep with my ipod, and there's been many times I've found myself frantically scratching an idea down by the light of my ipod screen.

It's rather like herding cats...

I have (*checks folder*) five - count them. Five! - stories started. Of them, only the possible se/prequel to "Minefield" isn't the direct result of a plot bunny. The idea gets deposited like - well, we all know what bunnies tend to deposit - in and amongst the rest of the daily stuff. Usually while I'm at work - and in my job, grabbing pen and paper and jotting stuff down is not an option...

One day I'll finish one of them. One day... *sigh*
