I've done that before. Well except in my case I put raw chicken in microwave to defrost and promptly forgot about it for a few days. Made whole apt stink. :S.

My housemate has done that several times. The first time I said, "Oi the bin stinks, wtf?" & he goes "yeh it's probably the raw meat I threw out four days ago. You can put the bin out." ...no. Unacceptable.

i basically never read posts from here anymore but i randomly read this a few days ago, & was amused... cue the next day noticing a similar smell around our fridge. i suggested to my housemate that something in the fridge of his may be off, & he said it wasn't anything of his (despite the fact neither myself or my other housemate had anything in the fridge that could go off), & now I've finally convinced him his WEEK OLD fresh fish is probably indeed off... aaaaand I just walked through the kitchen & noticed he's resolved the problem by putting the off fish in the bin in kitchen. seriously?? whhyyyyyyyy do they do this!?!
