Upcoming Birthday/ Challenges
Our comm is going to be one year old soon. That's right: On Feb. 3, houseofsmex will be a year old. We stand at 125 members strong, we've had our ups, our downs, our lively periods, and our dead ones. But we're still here. We are still growing. So, now that our birthday is coming up, I'm going to issue a challenge or two.
Challenge One: Birthday/Anniversary
The typical Birthday/Anniversary fic. Write about a birthday or anniversary in the HoS universe. It doesn't have to be about one of the fivesome specifically. Remember, they are part of a big world(though they should be involved somehow) Anything is welcomed. Al/Masuta/Roy burning a cake, Winry dropping blatent hints about what she wants, or the chaos that is their everyday lives being even more so on a special day. Anything to do with a birthday or annivesary. This challenge also goes towards all you artists out there. Pretty pictures are always welcomed.
Challenge Two: Change of Pace
Do a complete about face. Do you write/draw angsty stuff all the time, or are you mostly a kind and gentle person who loves fluff? Try something completely different. And don't forget that angst and fluff aren't your only options. Crack, dark humor, fourth wall, it's all up for grabs. Step outside your normal boundries and dance on the wild side.
Challenge Three: Kinks
Yay, yay, I know I said a challenge or two, but I never claimed the ability to count. Anyway, here's the challenge. HoS is all about kinks. I mean, look at it. Incest, yaoi, het, and even some yuri is you look around. Well, nows your chance to feel completely free to throw in that last little kink you've always wanted to add. Does Ed have a thing for foodsex, or does Masuta have a hair fetish? Go for broke. Remember, there's only a tiny bit of set canon for HoS, and none of it has to do with kinks. Feel completely free to experiment. Don't forget, though, that you can do that any time. *grins*
Challenge Four: Arcs
This is the last one at the moment. More might show up, but not right this second. You're almost through. Now, challenge.
Pick one of the arcs that are open. Write a fic for it. Remember, only the arcs that say "Open with Permission" are for this challenge, and remember that your fic might not become canon for that arc, but it's fun to write in the arcs.

Now, for something that isn't really a challenge, a two-fold request. As I said, we got over a hundred people here, which isn't bad at all for a comm that's a specialized as us. How did you find us? Have you ever recommened us to a friend? Do you want to now? First part of the request is reply and let me know how you found us, and if you recc'd us anywhere(I like to go check out recc sites and other peoples LJ), and the second part is to recc us now.
