Okay, so I know this sounds weird...

I'm not sure what to make of this, but it's certainly intriguing.

I have a few little stuffed toy piglets that live downstairs next to a porcelain lamb thing. My mother and I had a running joke about piglets, and wee creatures and stuff. She used to call me Babe, or Wee Piglet, and she and I were really the only ones who got the joke about the wee creatures (the rest of my family being, apparently, too literal to understand whimsy).

Anyway, over the last few days I noticed the piglets changing positions a couple of times. I mentioned it to my sister, and she said she hadn't moved them. She said perhaps it was Maa doing it--a sort of sign thing--and, whilst my mind is open to the possibility of that sort of thing happening, I don't easily accept it. Well, because it's extremely unlikely (!) and there could be some other explanation, like somebody accidentally jogging the chair next to the piglets while they turn on the Christmas tree lights, etc etc...

Anyway, y/day my sister moved the piglets off the floor because we were having friends round, and they were bringing children. When the friends left I put the piglets back. I know how I put them, and that was just sitting next to each other. Earlier today I went into the room where the piglets live and noticed that somebody had turned little Babe round so that he was kissing/rubbing snouts with Little Peewiglet. It was such a major change of position that I assumed my sister must have done it. After all, jogging a chair doesn't cause a piglet to turn 180 degrees. My sister's just got in, though, and I showed it to her, and she swears she didn't do it. And even more strangely, when I went in to show her the piglets they'd moved again.

I really don't know what to make of this, because I know I didn't do it, I know it's not something that could have happened accidentally and I cross-examined my sister so carefully that I'm entirely sure she's not joking. (With Maa having died, and all, I don't think she would joke about something like this.) I mentioned way back in May that my mother died at 2.25pm, and that the wind-up clock in her room stopped at precisely that time a week after her death. It's done the same thing a couple of times since then (my sister keeps winding it), but not for a couple of months.

Well... to me this stuff is so interesting that I thought I'd post about it here. I've taken 3 pics, showing (i) how I put the piglets down (ii) how I saw them when they'd moved, and (iii) how they'd moved again. These weren't taken contemporaneously, because I didn't know they were going to move etc, but this is the sort of change I'm talking about. Interesting, eh?
