I am indeed! I'm in the North West. Interesting what you say about teh slash: I'll have to see what sort of things come up. Could be we'll all be describing daffodils, or something *g*
What a handsome little dog! I bet yours will be even nicer.
Congrats on the writing course--I bet it will be lots of fun. You have to be brave about sharing your work-in-progress with the rest of the class, though, and having them critique it. (If you don't have to go first, watch carefully when it's someone else's turn and figure out who's That Guy who makes himself feel important by bashing others' work (most writing courses or groups have one. In fact, it may be a law. One identifying characteristic is that he will offer an opinion even if he hasn't read the work). That way, when it's your turn in the hot seat, you know not to mind what he says.)
Thank you v. much for the good advice re: teh creative writing course. That Guy sound like a bit of a dork! I will watch out for him, and I won't let him put me off ♥
I've got a lovely crate (seems such a weird name for a doggy home!) with soft bedding in it, and doggy bowls, toys and chews. The breeder is going to give me some bedding that Babe (I've decided that's going to be puppy's name) has been sleeping on with her mother and siblings. I've got a teensy collar, but it's just a light one to help her get used to wearing one when she's a bit older. She and I can play with it for now :)
I've found a dog shop very close to here that does the smelly stuff that keeps puppies away from pieces of furniture, and I'm going to see if I can feed some of my cabling through a plastic pipe.
When I say tomorrow... it's actually 0400 here on Friday morning, and I mean that she's coming on Saturday. I must go to bed!

Are you in my country, I keep forgetting! It would be illegal to ban slash on your course, unless they banned het too. I'm sure that's EU-wide :)
