Puppy has arrived - now I'm exhausted!
Hello peeps :)
Well, I drove over to Lincolnshire yesterday to collect my puppy, Piglet. I spent about 3 hours with the breeder, meeting her other dogs and puppies and getting all sorts of good advice on how best to help Piglet settle in.
Little Piglet was a bit overwhelmed when we first got back, but only for about 15 minutes. After that she had a little snack and a drink, and a large poo (and then another one), and soon she was scampering around the kitchen and climbing up onto my knee :)
We watched a video together--she slept in the crook of my arm--and then we went to bed. The breeder suggested carrying Piglet in her cat basket up to my bedroom for the night, so that she could see and hear me if she got lonely. I did that. She yelled for about 5 minutes at bedtime but I spoke to her, and she settled down. After that she slept the whole night through with not a single whimper :) This morning she's had breakfast and several games, and it seems to be me who's exhausted!
I must nip downstairs to give her a cuddle in a moment: we're going to read a book together. I've managed to catch a terrible cold, so I hope I don't pass it on.
Incidentally, if you watch any of the videos will you let me know whether they stream okay? YouTube is agonisingly slow here this morning, and so it was a couple of days ago also. I'm not sure whether it's my PC or net congestion.
