"“Beaver wasn’t ever okay with anything, in case you didn’t notice.” Dick took a huge bite of French toast. “Except you. He was sometimes okay with you.”
Awww. So many perfect little moments, but I think this one was my favorite.
They're fun to play with, both broken but optimistic. I find I quite enjoy writing for Dick. Even just did a character drabble for him that will be up in a few minutes. Dark!Dick, but Dick none-the-less.
It's funny, I hated Dick so much in seasons one and two, and I was so pissed that Veronica would just blithely hang out with him, but after the premiere when there was that scene with Mac and then him crying on Logan's shoulder, I've bent a little in my attitude.
I thought he was an amusing character in S1/2 but not exactly sympathetic. Now? Yeah, I just want to make him feel better, ficwise. Character snippet just posted, if you're interested.
I also think that most of the time we see Dick, it's when he's interacting with Veronica, and it's patently obvious he doesn't care for her, for what ever reason. Not like Logan's fiery loathing, just a distaste. Makes me wonder about what would have happened offscreen.
AWWWWWWW!!!! This was so freakin' sweet! I loved how he kept calling her his girl and how he was all disappointed when he was late to their morning meeting...the ending was perfect! Can't wait to read more!
And the meaning of the series title becomes clear--desserts and sweets for all! I fully admit that some of this is wish fulfillment, and the episode this week just makes me want to write more with a burning passion. I'm glad you're enjoying these stories!
I really liked this fic! Dick is so lovely...can you just give this fic to Rob Thomas? Maybe he'll catch some ideas from it, for the love of all the MaDi's fans!
And I like how you describe every detail...it seems more realistic! "The air was still now, no more breeze through the doors, but the night still smelled of ocean. Mac glanced out the open doors to the brightly lit town outside, the faint noise of traffic and music from the night scene floating up to the penthouse. And somehow, that world seemed just a little bit too bright, to real, and she wanted nothing more than just to stay there where things like whether your mother was really your mother, or whether your murderous dead ex-boyfriend really loved you, just weren’t important anymore."
I spent five minutes reading this part...I felt in love with it! I think I can smell the ocean now! XD I'm waiting for the next story!
And what's more, I now caught a typo when you reposted that section. Yikes! But thanks. My husband grew up in that area of the world and we go back to visit frequently. Somehow, it always smells of ocean there, even when you can't see it.
What's interesing is I don't really consider myself a MaDi shipper, not in the demented HPverse meaning of the word. I just happen to like the challenge they'd give each other. Fun stuff!
