I remember reading Voltaire's Candide and absolutely hating it. I was probably too young. I didn't know he was a philosopher though...

haha yea. he wrote a bunch of plays and shit, I haven't read Candide, but I know the story, it sounds... interesting. Satirical.
Especially his Teacher.
