my lines are much less clean than yours, what can i fix?

i tried doing it all in illustrator and though the live trace does work a lot of the time, it is finicky too. any tips?

I've never used Illustrator, so I can't really say. I apologize, and if I find anyone who can answer this I'll refer them to this comment. ;-)
