I figured the "handing off the dollar" thing was a "passing the buck" joke...

If someone accepted the dollar then they'd be accepting that their window/desk was the correct place to accept the complaint. An Ike might read, but making Ray dig into his wallet and not his pocket TNB.

Most insightful line? Could those jeans be any tighter? Also, plaid shirt, bare arms, splayed fingers, watch on delicious wrist... heh heh heh.

So weird that someone on one of the slashcon ljs just *today* posted a link to men donning uniforms and wearing white gloves! I swear, sometimes a slashmeme is so strong it sleets through the entire universe.

I do find it hard to take the social injustice in this episode totally seriously - although it is, sadly, probably as or more common than some of the other serious community issues dS tackles. I'm trying to think why, and part of it must be because the villains, except Dennis (who is such a sleazebag, really) are all one-note. I feel as if I should have been more affected by it than I was :( Ray's lost marriage feels more real than the social commentary. I like that this is a Ray-heavy ep, and yet what he does for Fraser is so understated: Fraser will never even know it (probably...oh, now there's a bunny....)

Thanks so much for putting these together, Howie :)

This episode has never had much of an impact on me either. I mean, I like Mackenzie King and the Ray bits, but emotionally, the whole social injustice thing doesn't really register for some reason. So I'm with you on feeling like I should feel differently. :\ *feeds plot bunny*

Not a problem, although I seem to have run rather long...Everything just seems so important to include! Thanks for the template. It really helped out.

Benton is highly informed about crime. The welding in question, undisclosed as it is, is an adulteration of a car, rather like horse meat for beef. That said, Fraser does respect jobs well done, and mentions that it is a nice bit of work.

Since this Riv will meet an End, that it previously had been Cut In Half (wonder if they're really both halves of one car...) and had the balance of its misstated purchase price used to stack an audience...
