Here's another post that's sharing some of my craft projects. A few sewing projects, some sculpey ones, a touch of woodworking, and a few more pieces of jewellry.
6 pictures of jewellry, 3 of sewing projects, and 2 of sculpey and wood total.
Jewellry
The oldest pieces, these are the MNF bracelets that Freya showed off in my last entry. ^.^
This is another MNF necklace, on a stiffer wire that holds the shape. It was designed for Drien, to match something of Kirenze's, and I'm hoping that he'll actually wear it. There's two pictures because the leaf pendant is a solid pearlescent blue on one side and a clear green on the other.
SD-sized scorpion necklace put together shortly before Halloween. David stole it for no reason, and then decided he liked the second one I made better. Trying to convince him that he doesn't need -two- scorpion necklaces.
Lugh was the model because he was out at the time.
This is the scorpion necklace that David then stole. I like it better, and it is his shade of blue, but, still... XD
Sewing
This is the second attempt at making a long headrest sort of pillow, using an old pillowcase and felt. I'm pretty happy with it, had to figure out the round ends and attachment procedure on my own. This was part of a swap CAHRD did in November. Handsewn, of course.
These are some of the pillow dragon plushies I've been working on, perfectly doll sized. It's an adaptation to a free pattern I found online for a dragon pin - but these are much too large for lapel pins! Construction materials are felt, beads, stuffing, shimmery cotton fabric, and some costume hemming. Handsewn, of course, with the wing details done using fabric glue.
This is just showing my stitching, which has improved greatly from this point, and that they really are pillows - only one-sided.
Sculpey and Wood
This is part of a trade that I did for some jewellry from Skada. The satchel underneath was made by Xellos, and it was incredibly nice. Everything pictured is MSD sized, and the badges eventually received earring backs so they could attach to the satchel for display. The balls and badges were made in sculpey, painted with acrylic, and then glossed with sculpey-specific gloss as a sealant.
This is something I'm incredibly happy with. It's an MSD-scale cane that was the bulk of my swap for the CAHRD meet in November. Handstained wood, with sculpey topper done in silver, and then painted with acrylic to give some detail and aged patina to the 'silver'. Finally, pearlescent beads were added as decoration. This cane took a very long time to complete, as I'd never done anything like it before and found no reference material for how to go about it. I really want to do more in the future, too. It's based off a French Nouveu cane, from the Victorian period.
