Eating to live

So... This last thursday Cafe Zupas had a sign up saying that all proceeds that day were going to the Red Cross to help out in Haiti. I had been planning to use a free meal coupon, but decided to save it and spend money instead.

Then I decided to get a dessert, because hey, it's for a good cause. Then I added a soda, and then a soup.

...I was overeating so that others might not starve...

That and "don't waste food while there are others starving" is the reason why fatness runs... or rather wobbles... in my family.

And of course prepacked dinners for one are always 80% wrapping 20% "food" so one buys the dinner for two... *urp*

Pure Bataille: excess as a necessity of life, as a redistribution of energy between particular systems. The irony is that the whole situation isn't as ironic as it seems. :D
