Daily Topic: Frivolous Lawsuits

So its been a while since I've posted a food for thought daily topic but I thought I would get people's thoughts on the following:

As a society are we too quick to sue?

My answer to this is YES. We've become a far too litigous society, and are often very quick to blame someone else for the bad that we may have brought upon ourselves. As a result, those who have ligitimate claims are being ignored or poo-pooed when raised ( ... )

Definitely one of the major impacts is the inability to get speedy justice for those who have legitimate claims.

Litigators are definitely a different breed -- even though it is what I do I sometimes wonder if I am cutout for it for the long term. There are a number of days where the backstabbing and vindictiveness gets to me.

Why did we get rid of dueling -- seems like such a shame.

I totally agree that people don't want to take responsibility for their own actions. This is a society of blaming others. We often talk about this in our home.

What I don't understand is what led to this trend in our society -- why was it ever encouraged or fostered. How do we stop this trend because it is not healthy for any one or any society.
