Something completely different -- I do large scale commercial litigation (isn't that a mouthful) -- basically securities work (like the Worldcom, Enron stuff), antitrust (like the Microsoft trial), or general breach of contract litigation between corporation.

I am amazed at the people who can do any sort of public defender/ district attorney or family law work. I know that I would take it home every night and it would eventually drive me crazy.

That's what I thought (at least I was thinking the antitrust part - which, btw, I think is some really really interesting stuff, one of my favorite things in law school). So glad to know I wasn't losing my mind!

And yeah, I thought briefly - very briefly - about doing family law. Except like you said, I knew I'd end up bringing it home and being all depressed about the crappy nature of some people in the world. Not good.
