"Well, I suppose there's one friend of mine still here in the city," said Orazio. He sniffed and bit into his kebab, rolling his eyes thoughtfully towards the sky. "An old friend, haha. In fact, I was on my way to visit him when I decided I really needed to eat something first. He owns a small shop not far from here, in an alley. It's a terrible location, he really should have a stall here in the market, where it's busy, but he says he likes it where it's quiet. He sells- spices, herbs, medicines, that sort of thing. Or he did, when I last knew him. I wonder if he's still in the old business..."

Elza thought about the lemon basil that she needed to pick up on her way back but also thought it odd that he wouldn't have a stall in the main market area. Unless he was selling something on the black market. Even so, the alley wasn't always the safest place to be, and the middle of the day was no exception. It might be best to tag along in this case, since it was something she needed and she was curious to find out if this person was the one Clive was looking for.

"You said that he sold herbs? I do have to pick up some..."

Chewing, Orazio nodded and grinned. "You're looking to buy herbs? My friend, if he's still here in the city, he'll have what you're looking for, I imagine. And I'm sure I can get you a very good discount as well, haha...! But let's see, I'm sure his shop isn't very far..."

The man stretched upwards, peering over the heads in the crowd. People were flowing around them, strolling between stalls to casually peer at the wares on display. The din of voices was loud. The men standing and talking beneath the fruit tree glanced over when Orazio suddenly pointed to the western side of the market square.

"Yes, there's his alley- this way...!" he said, motioning with his kebab for Elza to follow as he veered across the crowd. "What sort of herbs were you looking for- cooking or, ah, medicinal...?"

"Lemon basil." Elza couldn't quite see over the heads of the people the way that Orazio could so her only means of being truly observant of her surroundings was to keep an ear out for anything odd. What made her just a bit nervous, however was the crowd. Certainly she had been in large crowds before, but it felt as if everyone was moving as one mass of people and somehow, she was out of sync with it. Large crowds always made her the tiniest bit uneasy, and this was made worse by the fact that she had no idea where Clive was.

She continued to follow Orazio through the crowds of people, but stopped short when he noticed that he had stopped short. "I take it you don't see your friend or..." Elza's voice trailed off, wondering what kind of information he would volunteer next.

Orazio laughed. "No, but I see his shop now. This way ( ... )
