To say Rogue had found it difficult to get back into the everyday swing of things after waking up from that second weekend 'away' would have been something of an understatement. She'd spent the better part of a week indoors and lethargic, and had only started getting out and acting more like herself because if she didn't, people would really start to notice, and she knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that she wouldn't be able to take the questions.
The birthday cake had been one thing. What being 'home' had put her through was another.
She had her thumbs hooked in the belt loops of her Daisy Dukes and her eyes mostly on the ground as she walked with Brodie. It was hard to focus on the conversation, but not because she was disinterested, or even particularly distracted. It was just hard. She'd been making a pretty good go of it until they hit the lagoon, though. She stopped, having looked up to take in the waterfall, something that always gave her the feeling of equal parts nostalgia and appreciation, and her hands slipped away from

One of the shit things about being back from both Jersey and from Rogue's universe was that he'd been reminded by just how goddamn mundane the island could be sometimes. That and he'd had his hand back TWICE now, only to wake up to the fucking cold metal realization that he'd been de-handed by Eden's new boyfriend and his weapon of the Jedi.
Yeah, he knew about that shit. He'd spied the guy with his ex on more than one occassion, though he hadn't seen fit to say much to anyone about it.
Either way, being back SUCKED. He'd just been informing Rogue of that very thing-- mostly of the sour taste that the island marketplace left in his mouth-- when she stopped him, calling out Multiple Man's name.
"What? Where?" He asked. He whirled around, confused. Unless there was some ninja dupe shit going down, Brodie hadn't spied their multiplying companion
Madrox suppressed an annoyed sigh, which struck him as somewhat absurd given the circumstances. After all, he had the rest of his life to die; he just didn't intend the rest of his life to be all that long.
"You asked for one month," he called down to Rogue -- and Brodie, it looked like -- eyes trained on the water below. He'd spared them all of a second's glance. "That deadline passed weeks ago!"
