3x16 - One of Us
"I'm never going to fit in with these people."
I think this episode has been my favourite from the first time I saw it. I mean, of course there are other AMAZING episodes but I'm very biased, in that Juliet is ultimately my favourite character of all time. Not to mention this episode is a classic LOST episode, with the twists and character development/analysis. I mean, not only do we get Juliet's backstory of her time with the Others, but we also have some interesting Losties stuff. The speech Juliet made to Sawyer and Sayid is forever one of my favourite things she's done, it made the two characters reflect and thus made the audience reflect on how they're rooting for essentially immoral characters. But, as Juliet said famously in 3x01; "It doesn't matter who we were. It only matters who we are." The question of morality is one I love to analyse in everything I watch/read/hear, and LOST deals with this issue in this episode perfectly. Even more so in terms of Juliet. Some people think she's evil because of the ending. I, personally, think it's clever. We go on to discover Juliet's loyalty to the camp, how she is always putting others before her own needs, and that makes the ending of this episode very misleading. That doesn't make me mad, it makes me happy beyond belief.
