Title: 'Resonance' and the sequels: 'Revolution', 'Resolution'
Rating: G in the first fic, probably PG-13 in the others.
Pairing: Several, but early on Harry/Tonks, later Harry/OFC
Summary: Year six and Harry needs rescuing by Dumbledore and Snape. The resulting understanding between Harry and Snape is critical to destroying Voldemort and leads to an offer of adoption. Covers year seven and Auror training. (Severitus-type)
Why It Is A Favourite: This was one of the first fics I read when coming into HP fandom. It was wonderful from start to finish. Long, angsty, and immensely satisfying. I'm a sucker for fics featuring Snape as a mentor or adopted parent to Harry. It's a fic I go back to time and time again.

Title: Cambiare Podentes: Invocare

Pairing: Harry/Snape
Summary: A new prophecy comes to light, one that promises death for Harry Potter and enslavement for the wizarding world, unless Harry himself consents to being sexually enslaved--irrevocably and for life--to Severus ( ... )

Seconding Green Gecko's 'Resonance' trilogy. Which is *almost-but-not-quite* complete. Green Gecko was always ultra reliable in updating her epic, so it was surprising when she suddenly halted. I do hope she's okay.

Same here. It's one of the best 'powerful Harry' stories and explores his powers, the problems they cause, wonderfully.

I can sort of see how it can happen when someone is very focused on the series, but if they drag it out too long, it can get to be more of a chore to work on. She began it in 2004, so after 10 years, she has to be pretty sick of it. Or at least out of motivation to finish. In my mind, I consider it complete. I don't think much of the stuff after Harry healed is relevant. It was almost like a new story arc was introduced at the 11th hour and there was just nowhere to go with it. Just the same, I loved it and would gobble up anything she wanted to add. I think she's fine and just busy with her life. I'm so grateful that she was able to finish as much of it she did before petering out.

For some reason - I don't know why - I have it in my mind that she stopped for a totally different reason ... because she didn't want to end it. It must be difficult to come to the end of something that has consumed your life for a decade, you might not want to see it finished and done with. Either that or the ending just didn't 'interest' her much (which is a variant of your 'pretty sick of it' reason I guess).

It's a pity, because a fanfic that's complete is of far greater value, I reckon, than one that's finished.

That said -

Harry wasn't *totally* healed, as far as I remember, he still had a way to go, but yes, he'd managed to get that healing in an innovative way. :-) And since the romantic side of things was also resolved the trilogy is fairly satisfactory the way it ( ... )
