Hey, a sale is a SALE baby, weather or no. ;)

I took my January PPV block and the info at the beginning of the pattern file to my last Project Linus meeting and tried to nudge some more folks that way. Then after I got home I emailed a link to the BoM on Craftsy to the Linus email list. It would be nice to have a local crafty friend. It's nice having that group to go to once a month, but one more crafty meetup a month would be nice, then I could have something every other week.

The weather wasn't really that bad... I mean, yeah, it was a snow storm and it wasn't ...FUN.... but it was a straight shot for the 2 miles. And much easier drive than if I had to go to work that day (which has hills up AND down on the route ( ... )

I felt the same way about Project Linus when I first went, but what I didn't know then was that the fluctuates each month depending on what people have going on in their lives and I originally came at a pretty sparse time for them. So I've met quite a few ladies that I didn't meet originally that are pretty nice to be around. Also I've learned that the one lady that was so awkward and judgmental the first time I went (she was one of the three ladies I bumped into that invited me from the fabric store) is kind of awkward in general and apparently it's PL that has brought her out of her shell a bit, so I'm glad I stuck with it to meet some of the other ladies that weren't there at first. We've really grown quite a bit and that seeemed to start a little after I first went. We yarnies need at least two big round tables to sit at now! Quite a few of the quilters have stopped bringing their machines and bring their yarn and needles/hooks instead. They still make and bring quilts, they just don't drag their giant machines around with them ( ... )

Oh you make me laugh!! I need to remember that Nutso McScrewloose title... bwahahahahaa oh that's good!

I hope your friend decides to join in on the fun. I have a small sewing circle I belong to and only one of the ladies there is as young as I am, but she doesn't "get" my "fandom thing". Sigh. Silly muggles indeed.

I only get really funny when I'm tired, because my filter comes off then...which means I'm also prone to swearing...so be warned... ;)

I would LOVE it if she did! I don't have any local friends who sew....at least, not friends who I would get together with and have craft days...

Those who don't get fandom baffle me. There are a few people at work who look at me like I'm crazy when I get wound up about fandom...and I remind them that it's good to be passionate about SOMETHING. ;)

Okay, I do hope your friend learns to stitch and piece so you have a quilty friend there. That would be BRILLIANT!

What I really want is to do something like your retreat you go on...but with people I know. I'm so terribly shy when it comes to meeting new people that it's almost painful to watch. I come off sounding like a pompous ass in my attempts to have something in common with people. But I also want to be around people who can teach me stuff. Like how to quilt on my machine (because I hear it can be done). Or how to do traditional piecing...or picking the right batting...stuff like that....or like a craft convention...of like 10 people each with a skill to teach...mixed in with hours of crafting time. *drools a bit at that idea of heaven*

I totally, totally hear you. As much as we joke about The Sandbox, I would LOVE for that to be a thing at least once. I've been blessed in my crafty life to have both IRL crafty friends and amazing Online friends and I have learned SO MUCH from both of you. It is hard to beat the reality of having someone sitting next to you explaining how to do A Thing, though.

*glomps*

I'm still toying with the Skype thing...
