Alya knew someone would be getting an owl, or a howler. So she set aside the book she'd been reading without really paying attention and hurries out through the common room to find her Grandpa leaning against the wall.
"Close. Professor Savage thought I might wish to know what happened the other day. I thought maybe you'd like to get out of here for awhile." He reached over and brushed some of the hair from her face. She looks so much like her mother and grandmother Ginny. "A little trip, just you and me? I trust you won't get terribly behind in your studies, yes?"
If she was the crying type Alya probably would have cried in relief. Getting out of the castle sounded like being paroled. As much as she'd loved the school in the past now it just felt wrong and the full moon getting closer was making her hair stand on end.
"Really? Yes! I mean no, I won't get behind. I've got everything done right now. Where are we going?"
He couldn't help but smile at her reaction. Harry understood all too well how hard it could be to deal with the masses when your emotions and temper were threatening to wage war on everyone around you.
"You won't need to pack a bag. We'll buy new things once we get there." He pulled her in for a hug and whispered in her ear, "Amsterdam. Perhaps Italy as well if you'd like to see Leo, but definitely Amsterdam."
