Yay! Thanks for posting so quickly! :) I've really enjoyed this story and have already mentioned it twice on a board I frequent. I'll be sure and let them know it's complete.

I was sad at (the other) Draco's death, but I agree it would have been worse for 1926 Draco and Harry to be broken up. Although...it would have been really interesting to see the original Draco's reaction to them, wouldn't it?

The author's notes were really interesting. I don't usually get the opportunity to learn so much of the back story to a fic.

Your icon is still making me sigh! I'm glad you enjoyed reading this through.

I hadn't intended to write quite such voluminous author's notes, but one I started writing, out they came...

This was amazing. Being a research geek, I very much appreciate that you did your research, and it shows. I especially like your Harry--you got into his head and took him in a direction that I could easily see him going. And I loved the Author's Notes. It's interesting to see the process and how it works for someone else.

As for the sequel...it's awfully tempting, despite the fact that my bunny queue is overflowing at the moment. But I keep asking myself, "How's this Draco going to react to Lucius?"

Well, I am a Ravenclaw, which pretty much pegs me as a research geek of the highest order... though I hadn't thought of it that way until now... :)

Oh, Lucius. Wow. In my notes about a possible sequel (because of course these characters are tapping on my shoulder wondering when they can have another go 'round) thus far I've been so focused on Snape that I hadn't even begun to think about Lucius. Oh my. Oh dear. Hmmm... I would love to see what you'd do with it!

I haven't read ANY of this yet, as I've been not reading WIPS lately, but I just saved it all into a word doc to read and will comment as soon as I'm done. It sounds very interesting!

I've followed your story all through and found it very interesting and clever. The plot was especially ingenuous and well paced. There were some very hot moments, and I liked your OC quite a deal (though the House of Black fangirl in me winced at what you made of Phineas - and Regulus)
I'm a bit disapointed we never found out what was LeStrange's fate.

Anyway, kudos for fun and very entertaining story.

(reposted to put at the end of the right chapter ^^)

I just couldn't figure out how to get the information about what happened to poor Gaius into the story without dragging it out into a scene that would properly belong in a "sequel." I had a strong feeling I wanted to leave them in bed at the end...

As for the noble and ancient house of Black, my impression from the canon was that until Sirius' generation, they were not very nice--beheaded house elves and the screaming portrait of mother, disowning people who married non-purebloods, etc... so I just ran with that. I was also intrigued by that statement, that Phineas was the "worst headmaster" in Hogwarts history, and tried to think of what that would have meant. Somebody had to be the villain here. No disrespect intended to the fans of the Blacks!

I have really enjoyed reading this, thank you for such a long, well thought out and well-plotted story! And the dvd commentary made it all the more interesting. :)

Thank you! The plot was sometimes a struggle but for the most part once I set up all the dominos, they just came tumbling down one after the other. Once I had figured out what i was writing was a novel and not a long short story, I sketched out a plot I thought would take 15 chapters. It ended up with a few extra twists in it to make it even better, which came into view once I got up around chapter 10! I was a little apprehensive about posting it while still in progress in case I had to go back and change something -- a bit like walking a tight rope. But in the end, I kept everything on course, though Harry and Draco tried to drag thing in another direction once or twice.
