Was sure it was more strict. Lots of detention or worse.

Think some would still fight with or without Harry

Sometimes wish there was more about what was going on there. Know we follow Harry but hate being left in the dark

I mostly just go off of how Neville described it, plus some fanfic I've read which also goes off of Neville's description.

No. I'm sure she did after the battle and everything, but she didn't in the book.

I'm very interested in what Snape was doing during his time as headmaster. I think it's mentioned that teachers were supposed to defer punishment of their students to the Carrows, and I wonder how Snape responded to that. We know he "punished" Ginny, Neville and Luna by sending them into the forest with Hagrid, but I'm curious as to how Voldemort and the Carrows viewed this. No doubt he had to punish other students as well and, as much as I dislike Snape, I genuinely believe that he did everything in his power to protect the students from the Carrows, but how could he do this without arousing suspicion? I suppose Snape, as the murderer of Dumbledore, was trusted enough to carry out his own punishments, and maybe he even deceived the Carrows (which wouldn't be that hard) that the kids were getting a worse deal with him. Snape's time as headmaster is one of the few times I feel sympathy for him as, even with Dumbledore's guidance he couldn't really do much except try to minimise the suffering around him, and I don't think he exactly ( ... )

Yeah, I agree on the forest thing, I certainly wouldn't have enjoyed it as a punishment. :P And I guess I just like to believe that Snape could feel compassion for someone other than Lily (because if he doesn't then that just makes him all the more despicable to me), but you could be totally right! I'm just not sure Harry and Ginny would name their kid after someone who didn't at least try to rein it in a bit.

A+

michael was portrayed as arrogant and stupid, lavender the third of the giggly trio with the parvarti twins. as much as i wish we'd gotten a better look at hogwarts in DH, the glimpses of how much they've had to grow left such a large impact. neville and ginny, i think, we would've expected to grow into such courageous characters so to show how secondary characters have also had their trials and tribulations and have made just as important and radical choices makes the war more realistic.

and yeah, i agree with the snape thing as well. i always thought he was trying to let them have some bffery time with hagrid without peering eyes. sure the forbidden forest was dangerous, but at that time human control was probably a worse prospect.
