I'd like it if Lupin died protecting a student. Maybe Dean? It always seemed like Dean really liked and respected him, so it would be fitting. But I can see Lupin risking his life for kids left, right and centre, no matter who they were. I'd also like it if he took down Greyback, but I can't remember if we hear about Greyback mauling Lavender before or after Harry sees Lupin and Tonks have been killed.

Molly had a good go at taking down Dolohov (he's the one who killed her brothers, right?). Also, Molly and Arthur were totally a badass battle couple. As were Fleur and Bill.

Oliver Wood was amazing and flawless, as was the rest of the Quidditch team and they kicked some ass on brooms.

Cho was brilliant and determined to honour Cedric's memory and make sure he didn't die in vain. I think maybe this is the main reason she came back for the battle.

Oh and also, the unnamed injured girl who Ginny was comforting when Harry passed her under the invisibility cloak was underage and died from her injuries. Ginny felt personally responsible (although she wasn't in any way) and never quite got over it.

i agree with everything you said about lupin. i definitely see him dying protecting a student and trying his hardest to kick greyback's ass. pretty sure we hear about greyback mauling lavender before we see lupin dead, but i also don't think lupin actually got around to killing him.

You know, I've never really given this much thought. I guess I'm just so focused on Harry while reading the book that I forget about the rest of the battle.

I'm glad that Jo went back and said that Slytherins came back. I'm sure there weren't a ton, but I knew there had to be a few aside from Slughorn. They can't all be ~totally evil Death Eater douches~. That's forever one of my complaints with the books: even if the books are told from Harry's POV (and let's face it, most of the Slytherins he knows are evil and/or douches) there's still too much anti-Slytherin bias. At least we have Slughorn as an example of a good-guy Slytherin, but he's still not enough to balance it out.

idk if these count as a movie spoilers or not, but I'll white out the text anyway:

[What do you think of the decision to kill off Lavender Brown? Or how they changed Fred's death? (I remember reading them in a spoiler post on tumblr, but idk how valid they are.)]

I'M SORRY. But idk how true either of those are. They might not have changed anything at all with the final cut of the film.

I've always wanted to know if anything was said while Voldemort was battling McGonagall, Slughorn and Kingsley (?). He went to school with McGonagall and was taught by Slughorn... Would have been interesting...

And because I ship Tom/Min, they definitely said something to each other 8D

I agree with some Slytherins coming back to fight. Wish that was mentioned more.

Plus, I've always personally thought that Voldemort was uncomfortable with anyone who knew him when he was 'Tom Riddle', to the point that he put off the task of having to deal with them at all, and as a result keeping them alive rather long. Battling Slughorn and McGonagall of all people was probably the last thing he wanted to get involved in, lol.
I like this train of thought. It would be really interesting to know what his thoughts were on these two.

Since we didn't see or hear of any werewolves aside from Greyback, I like to think that most or all of the others didn't come to help the deatheaters. I like the idea, that when the time came, Greyback couldn't rally the other werewolves to fight. He would be all ready to go rend and maim and the other werewolves would be all "weeeeell, I've been thinking it over... that Lupin guy had some good points ya know..."

Seriously, JKR mentioned every other group; giants, acromantulas, centaurs... but not other werewolves. My headcannon is that they weren't there.

Remus Lupin = &hearts Agreed? I think his months of work and sacrifice and "reasoned argument" paid off in the end.
