- The beginning of the chapter makes me think Harry watched/read war movies.

- So all the Slytherins who apparated out joined the Death Eaters?

- Every one of the trio wants to do it alone.

- Charge, school desks!

- LOL Trelawney is the Princess of Tennis and Hagrid gets nabbed by spiders for a later plot point!

- Luna, Ernie, and Seamus to the rescue, curbstomping Dementors like nobody’s business.

- Hermione calls back a quote Ron said to her when they were eleven!

- Voldy threw away Ollivander’s advice about wands being as great as the wizard like a sack of garbage.

- Snape is interestingly insistent on getting Harry, as though he wants to tell him something…

- Snape gets fatally wounded and the sheer WTF of it leaves Harry not knowing what to feel.

- Snape Fans: VOLDEMORT KILLED SNAPE! EXTERMINTE VOLDEMORT! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!!!

And I am trying SO hard not to read ahead! This is the part of the book that broke me last time. Prince's Tale, Forest Again, omfg how can I not finish this book right now?!?!!

i really love the quote about harry not knowing what he felt as he watched snape die. totally captured my initial reaction to his death as well.

I like to think Snape was smart enough to always recognize how ridiculous it was to hold a grudge against Harry, but that doesn't mean he could easily control it, and the longer he held it, the more Harry hated him back, and the harder it would be to stop.

This. I think an important factor in not being able to control this apparent grudge was how much Harry looked like James; not only did Lily die because of the kid, but the kid also looked exactly like the arrogant toerag she preferred over him.
