A/N: Minor Slytherins FTW. This little series is for
cinnamon_sins, 'cause I felt like it.
"I hope to God he was worth it, Baddock!"
The words stung far more than the slap across the face, more than the raking of her fingernails across his cheek. Livid red.
"Emma-"
"Shut up," she interrupted coldly. "I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear about how sorry you are for fucking around behind my back with my best mate, I don't."
"Em, it wasn't like that-"
"Wasn't it?" She arched an eyebrow. "Funny, because it sure looked like it. Or did you just trip and fall with your cock up his arse?"
Malcolm winced. I guess I deserved that. "Well, no, but I... it didn't mean anything, Emmy."
"You and he have been on and off for years," she scoffed. "It meant something, Malcolm. And that's Emma to you."
He sighed. Damn the girl for always being right. "Fine. Emma. I'm sorry."
"Yeah, well. Tell Graham he's welcome to you, because I'm not interested." She turned on her heel and stalked to the door. "Oh, and Malcolm?" She glanced over her shoulder. "I hope Theodore kills you when he finds out."

Knock, knock.
"Door's open!" Emma called, not bothering to look up from the untidy scrawl of her handwriting across the parchment. The door to the flat swung open and clicked shut, and when she finally glanced up, she saw Graham standing uncertainly just inside the door.
Fucking peachy.
"Oh. You," she said unenthusiastically. "What is it?"
Graham shuffled his feet. "I, um. I need to talk to you."
"So talk," Emma said dispassionately. She was looking at her writing again, her attitude distant.
Fucking peachy.
"I just..." Graham swallowed hard and chewed anxiously on his bottom lip. "I came to tell you that I'm sorry."
"Mmm," Emma said noncommittally, by way or reply. "Are you, now."
"Yes, Emma, I am, I- I was stupid. I'm an awful friend."
"Yeah, you are," she said. "That one, I'll agree with."
"Emma," Graham said, a little desperately, "please. I'm sorry, I just... I want things to be all right again."
Emma was silent for a long moment, and Graham fidgeted.
"Well, maybe you should have thought of that before you slept with my boyfriend," she said calmly. "You just love saying sorry, Graham, but sorry doesn't change anything. Sorry doesn't make what you did okay, sorry doesn't fix what you've wrecked, sorry doesn't do jack." She looked up, eyes narrowed. "Go to hell, Pritchard."
Graham bit his lip and turned his back to her, tugging the door open and fleeing her flat as fast as he could manage.
I think I'm already there.

acidpop25Title: Always
Rating: PG
Pairing(s): Malcolm Baddock/Emma Dobbs, with Malcolm/Graham Pritchard, Graham/Theodore, and Emma/Montague on the side.
Prompt: 9. It always comes around back to you.
Date: 04/07/07
Summary: Married. Emma was getting married.
Married. Emma was getting married. Bloody fucking hell. To Liam Montague, no less. Malcolm had always detested the man. Besides, he was too old for her, definitely.
Bloody fucking hell.
"It always comes back to her, doesn't it?"
Malcolm scowled in Graham's direction. "Are you going?"
Graham's expression darkened. "No," he said, trying and failing miserably to sound unconcerned. "Wasn't invited. Theo was."
Malcolm made a face. He had never liked Theodore, either, though that particular hatred was at least mutual. "Who's he going with? Tracey? Or is he taking Draco just to make Potter twitch?"
Graham glared a bit at that; he had never appreciated reminders of Theo's past relationships, not in the least because he knew quite well that Theo had a more than healthy appreciation for attractive blonds, and Graham wasn't deluded enough to think that he was better-looking than Draco. "Neither," Graham answered. "He's going alone."
"Mm. But is Tracey going?"
"Probably," Graham said, shrugging. "Haven't seen her lately, but I'd assume so. Why?"
Malcolm drummed his fingers on the table. "Because," he said, "she owes me a favour."

acidpop25Title: Liar
Rating: PG
Pairing(s): Malcolm Baddock/Emma Dobbs, with Emma/Montague.
Prompt: 21. I was up all night, waiting for some kind of miracle.
Date: 04/07/07
Summary: She would have her happily ever after. No matter what.
She'd been up all night, unable to sleep, all anticipation and nerves and nagging fear. But Emma was nothing if not a good actress, and when the time came for her to slip into her white dress and pin the veil into her hair, only the excitement showed. No trace of fear, of doubt, of worry; Emma was going to marry Liam, and she would have her happily ever after. No matter what.
Emma eyed herself in the mirror and smoothed a fold of her dress. The white may have been a blatant lie, but she looked good, she looked beautiful, she looked happy.
"Are you ready?"
Emma nodded at Daphne. "Yeah." She let out a breath. "Yeah, I'm ready. Where's my bouquet?"
Daphne handed it to her. "Go on, then, Emma."
The aisle seemed to stretch forever, forever, forever, and Emma listened only hazily to the speeches, her mind racing with scattered fragments of thoughts as she looked up at Liam through her lashes.
"If any here knows of any reason why these two should not be joined in matrimony, speak now, or forever hold your peace."
"Wait."
Emma squeezed her eyes shut. Fucking Malcolm. Could he be any more cliché?
"I love her."
Emma turned. "I don't love you. I'm happy with Liam."
Blatant lie, lie, lie.
"But you don't love him!"
Emma turned her back on Malcolm. "Liar," she muttered, and looked at Liam. "Ignore him," she whispered. "Everything's going to be just fine."
Liar.
