"We can't keep doing this, Luna."
"Why not?" she replied, and snuggled closer. Theodore was warm.
"Because..." he sighed, threading his fingers in her hair. "Because of my father, Luna."
"What about him?"
Theodore made a soft noise of frustration. "He has already planned my future."
"Well, what is it?" Luna asked, and started trailing little kisses down his chest.
"I'll get a respectable job at Gringott's, and I'll marry Daphne Greengrass, and that is really distracting, Luna."
"Mm. So why do you have to do what he says?"
"Luna, he's my father."
"So?"
"Look," Theodore said, rather sharper than he meant to, "I'm the only heir of the Nott family, I have obligations-"
"Deny thy father and forsake thy name," Luna murmured against his chest.
"What?"
"Deny thy father and forsake thy name," she repeated. "It's-"
"Romeo and Juliet, I know," Theodore said. Apparently his deep love of Shakespeare hadn't gone unnoticed. "But you can't seriously be asking me to-"
"Do you love me, Theodore?"
"You know the answer to that."
"I want to hear you say it."
"I love you, Luna."
"That means something, too. That has obligations, too. Doesn't it?"
Theodore sighed. "I can't promise you anything."
"I know."
"But Luna-"
"Hush," she breathed, and pressed a finger to his lips. "I love you too."
