"I'm really not sure I'm the person you're looking for." I'm not my father.

Brilliant characterisation. Augusta was sweter than I'd've expected, but I think I just think the world is more astringent than you do. XD

I love the stubborness of your Neville- not a characteristic that's done to death in canon or in fandom- lovely way to strengthen him, very believable and very right. I love Ginny's little intoned speech too, I loved how you made her use words that weren't hers to nevertheless make her very Ginny. Yeah, I'm a characterisation h0r :)

*g* Augusta falls into one of my favourite categories: grumpy old women with a heart of gold. At least, I like to think so - certainly I took her tears when Neville's magic manifested itself as a sign that she loved him really. Incidentally, I also put Minerva in this category :).

Anyway, thanks! I definitely think Neville is stubborn - we've seen plenty of his quiet determination (perhaps most in OotP). He may not be very certain of himself a lot of the time, but when he's decided about something, he sticks to his guns - witness Hermione having to hex him in book one when he tries to stop them leaving Gryffindor Tower.

Yeah, I see her as one of those too, and Minerva . . like her, but more wise in the ways of bringing up adolescents :) She's still sweeter than she is in my head, but that's nice. Thanks.

Lol, I love that scene- "I'm really, really sorry, Neville, but . . "!!!

Lovely story, with Neville's observations and reluctance to actually don the badge. My favorite parts, though, were the two that made me laugh...
Neville patted his pockets, checking for Trevor, money, ticket and badge.
and Ginny's recitation:
Gabrielle Delacour looked every inch the fairytale princess, eclipsing the more prosaic appeal of the bridegroom's sister, Ginevra. Harry Potter graced the ceremony with his presence.
(P.S. Friending you if that's all right :)

Oh, I'm glad I made you laugh! I never really try with the comedy, so it's good to know I can manage it on occasion.

And of course friending's all right :). Welcome!
