Summary: The boys decide to conjure up a few spirits on All Hallow's Eve.
The cold air made Albus shiver as he stood in front of the giant
bonfire. He didn't know how James had convinced them all to perform
this "ancient ritual" on Halloween night, but here they were, standing
in nothing but their knickers around the flames.
"James?" Al asked, his knees shaking. "Does it really say to be naked?"
"Come on, Al, don't be a baby," James said. "No one is around. You
worry too much."
James tossed incense into the middle of the bonfire, causing huge
clouds of smoke to billow up. Hugo Weasley coughed, rubbing his eyes
as they began to water.
"Honestly, Potter," Scorpius sneered, waving a hand in front of his
face as the clearing was suddenly filled with a heavily perfumed
scent. "Couldn't you have picked something else? It smells like
Weasley's dirty socks."
"Shut up, Malfoy," Hugo coughed again. "How do you know what my socks
smell like? Pervy sock fetish much?"
"Quiet," James ordered, looking down at the book he held in his hands.
"It says here to invoke the spirits we all have to say the ancient
words: Tig ginddos taerg a ma I."
The strange words echoed in the dark. Albus stopped chanting, noticing
that he could see something in the forest.
"James?" he said, turning to his brother with wide eyes.
He pointed, his arm shaking. James turned, expecting to see a ghost
when a large flash went off in his face.
"Ahaha!" Teddy Lupin laughed, taking another picture. "Merlin's balls,
I didn't think you would fall for it! This is too good!"
"What the hell?" James scowled, turning on the older boy.
"Trick or Treat, Jamesie," Teddy grinned. "That 'old manuscript' was
something I made up myself."
"But... the words," he stammered.
"What? Tig ginddos taerg a ma I?" Teddy chuckled. "Well, it's true.
You are a great sodding git."
"You... you..." James sputtered before taking off after him. "Wait
until I get my hands on you, Teddy Lupin! You won't be able to sit for
a week!"
