Now a Hogsmeade weekend, which once, would have been full of Zonkos, Honeydukes, and butterbeer was filled with mindless wandering down the streets of the town in search of a perfect gift.
He knew that material things were not to most important things to Luna, but he had trouble voicing his love for her. This gift needed to show that to her. It had to be as unique as she was. Jewelry wouldn’t cut it. After all, Luna was fond of her radish earrings and butterbeer cork necklace.
Walking into Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop Neville saw some answers. His eye was drawn to a quill that was a mixture of red, gold, blue and bronze. It was just sentimental enough and Neville knew that she needed a new quill because someone had stolen her last one. This one would stand out in a crowd and she would be able to find it with ease. He grabbed some parchment that was decorated with radishes and some silver ink that reminded him of her eyes. He knew that once he paired it with the rose Professor Sprout let him grow in Greenhouse 5 Neville would have the perfect gift. Christmas, you see, comes only once a year.
