Under the Weasley's Christmas tree there are many gifts for the Lupins. Toys for the children and something smart for Tonks. For Remus there's a green box which undoubtedly holds a jumper.
The Lupins arrive for Christmas dinner, bearing their own gifts for the hosts. They all open their presents and, when the women go to the kitchen, Bill hands Remus a small red box.
Inside there's a key. Under it the note says, "This is a key to a flat I rented for us. No more going to that ugly Muggle hotel."
With a smile, Remus pockets the key.
