Title: Surprises
For: Babbling Brook
Ship: Neville/Pansy
Prompt: Red and Green
Word Count: 287
Author's notes: I hope Neville/Pansy counts as two minor characters. I got bunnied for this one. And I was feeling fairly insipred, I've written two for you.

No one had ever said that Slytherins were going to be in Newt level Herbology classes. Neville had felt a note of despair when he realised that and saw Pansy Parkinson holding court across the classroom. They made him nervous. Well girls in general made him nervous and when they were Slytherin, they made him even more nervous. They giggled a lot and they were probably giggling at him. Neville decided to keep his head down and hope that they didn't notice him.

In the lead up to Christmas, Professor Sprout set a project and informed them that she would be pairing them up. Neville sat, nervously wringing his hands underneath the desk as she read down the list of partners. His heart stopped as she said "Neville Longbottom and Pansy Parkinson." He barely heard her continue and telling them that they were expected to meet outside lessons.

Stony silences in the library led to awkward discussion in the greenhouses led to comfortable silences as the project finished in the last week of term. Pansy had been disappointed that their hybrid flowers hadn't bloomed yet. The last day of term dawned frosty but clear and Neville made a last visit to the greenhouse. On their bush was the first bloom that had emerged overnight. He picked and went to find Pansy, finding her just leaving the Great Hall. He gave her the rose and said "Merry Christmas Pansy. It bloomed." With that, he took his courage in his hands and kissed her on the cheek. Realising what he had done, Neville quickly walked off before anyone saw what he had done.

Pansy watched his retreating back, touching her cheek where he had kissed. "Merry Christmas," she whispered.

Title: Comprimise
For: Babbling Brook
Ship: Draco/Ginny
Prompt:Red and Green
Word Count: 142
Author's notes: This is my first time writing Draco/Ginny, so I hope this is all right.

"I don't care what you think. We are not having our Christmas decorations in Slytherin colours and that's that." Ginny stood on in the tiny front room glaring at Draco. He was leaning against the door frame. He pushed his shirt sleeves up, laughing softly.

"Well, I'm not having Gryffindor colours. I'll never live it down." He nodded seriously. "They may even strip me of my house affiliations, if people found out." He smirked as he looked her up and down. "Do you know how sexy you look when you're angry?"

Ginny blushed and looked a little flustered. She stepped closer and tiptoed up to kiss him. "Shall we compromise then? Have red and green?"

She gave him a slightly wolfish smile and said "I'm sure we can find better things to do than argue about the colour of our Christmas decorations."
