I have been having trouble participating in fests, so I can't make any commitments for writing (even though I would like to), but I just want to say that I really love the idea of this fest! It's just too bad that it wasn't as successful last year as it should have ideally been :( The only suggestion I have for smaller fests is to make them exchanges, because people who sign up will have a personal interest in writing and reading, so the participation would theoretically be higher. But other than that I don't really know what else you could do. Maybe last year was just very busy for people and this year will be better?

I hope it runs again, but if it doesn't it's totally understandable. But I just wanted to throw in a supportive voice! I think it's an awesome concept and I love comedy:)

Thank you!! And, yeah, I totally understand about commitment since I always have the hardest time finding time to write, lol.

And, yeah, maybe an exchange would be cool!

I have real performance anxiety concerning a full-blown gift fest. But I dearly love promptfests. I would definitely participate if I could write a story or two in the 1000-2500 word range. Also, I would be willing to help out!

Cool!

If you want to help, the best way is to tell people about the comm and get them involved since last year, a bunch of people left prompts but nobody wanted to write. And our minimum word count is 500 words so it's not a crazy commitment!

At hd_fluff, we run a very casual, laid-back Halloween fest, in which anyone can leave a prompt, and anyone can claim any prompt(s) and create anything from it. It's very low-maintenance for the mods, and people seem to enjoy it. Perhaps you may consider trying something similar?

Are there any updates on plans for this fest? I would dearly love to read a fest full of humourous fanfic!

Hi, I used to be slytheringurrl (the mod). To answer your question, I don't think that this fest will be continuing. The first round was very unsuccessful and I didn't get a lot of positive feedback to start a second round. However, if you'd like, I'm willing to hand over the comm to anyone who feels like they can continue it!
