Awww, my poor boys. You have a lovely turn of phrase - I especially liked 'like a man who was raised in a desert must feel when for the first time he dances in the rain', and "My grandfather used to say something extraordinarily difficult took blood, brains and bollocks. I suppose it's as well that the potion didn't ask for those." made me laugh out loud *g* Good old Snape :-)
Thank you so much! You wrote an excellent drabble for me to play with. I loved the playful tone of the original... I really wish I'd been able to keep it in the remix, but alas, I'm hopeless at writing humor so I had to resort to angst!
Thank you, thank you. I think it could have benefited from your golden touch, but I like it a lot more after letting it sit for a month than I did when I was writing it.
This is just...gorgeous. Normally, I try to offer a bit of analysis, some observations, but this....It's just wonderful. The need expressed, the images and description, the device of blood, sweat and tears...everything so visceral and human...wow.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I can't believe you weren't happy with it at one point, because I'm delighted.
