First impressions after walking out of the theater?

Well, I saw it in a WB screening room, I'm afraid, sorry - at 9am and I had got home from Sweden at 1am the night before, if you want to feel sorry for me - so my first impression was exhaustion!

Then I drowned for several hours on the red carpet as there was a hail storm in London in July! Never been so wet.

But I did get to say Harry/Ron, love and chocolate to Rupert...

...and I made Dan bounce.

So, all in all a rather pleasant impression? :))

I love your red carpet stories!

I think I'm still a bit damp from that hail storm....

How did canon being closed and all the secrets revealed influence your thoughts and feelings of this film?

the way they dealt with Ginny was a mess.

I might not liked the ship, but they had to have Harry/Ginny and they really shot themselves in the foot for how they did it.

Ginny was a mixture of a walk-in role and a cunning seductress (I mean everyone got that vibe from the shoelace scene, right?)

the way they dealt with Tom Riddle's backstory was very lackluster

and they way they dealt with Remus/Tonks was horrendous.

All in favor of having that ridiculous 'Burn the Burrows' scene which served absolutely No purpose, and they would have to go back and ret-con for the final movie because they needed it for the wedding.

We got very few new characters in this film, but the ones we did seemed pretty important, what were your feelings when cast and when viewed of Helen McCrory as Narcissa, Jessie Cave as Lavender and Jim Broadbent as Professor Horace Slughorn?

I was so annoyed when people complained Jim Broadbent wouldn't look right, because he is the greatest character actor in the world and he was wonderful.

Oh, Lavender, you were perfect.

WHA?! I did not know people had a problem with Broadbent! There is NOTHING that man could not do!

And she was absolutely adorbs! <3

When he was first cast I saw people complaining he wasn't walrussy enough... *snort*

What do you wish would have been different?

I wanted more of the pensieve scenes. Because we got so few, Riddle's whole story didn't entirely make sense.

Didn't love how they reworked Harry/Ginny, especially the kiss. Didn't love how they had Harry initially sucking up to Slughorn especially when he was so resistant to it in the book. Didn't love the Three Broomsticks scene where Harry is obsessed with Slughorn and is not the least bit concerned about Ginny kissing Dean. Didn't love the whole Burrow burning down. Would like to have seen more of the battle at Hogwarts.
