Place: Floo Station, Hermione's Flat
Date: August 2nd

Fleur had packed her bags, kissed a softly crying (yet somehow, still pouting) Gabrielle good-bye, and stepped into her fire.

She reappeared at the Floo Hub in London, stepping smoothly out of the fireplace.  While others looked disheveled, Fleur looked like an advertisement for Floo ( Read more... )

Hermione had awoken that morning hung over. Extremely hung over.

In the bright light of day (very, very bright, said her aching head), Hermione wondered what the fall out would be from the night before. Some lines... some lines once crossed....

Shaking her head, and then making a note to herself not to shake her head, Hermione went to the door and cracked it, wand at the ready to see who was arriving unannounced on her door step.

Oblivious to Hermione's discomfort, Fleur took the crack as an invitation to push the door open the rest of the way and glide into the apartment.

"Hermione," she gushed, quickly kissing her friend's cheeks, "you look--" she paused when she actually took a moment to survey how Hermione looked (mussed and unhappy), but true to form, her smile never dimmed "--truly original."

"Mmm..." Hermione groaned at the smacking sound of Fleur's lips on her cheeks, so close to her ears. "Thank you, Fleur. Won't you come in?" she asked in a scratchy voice from lack of sleep.

"Can I get you some tea? Or coffee?"

"Non," she paused, recognizing her mistake. "No, thank you. I'm fine." She smiled proudly, and wandered further into Hermione's flat, looking around curiously. She had stopped by before, but only briefly. Most of her time in London was spent either at Gringotts or at Bill's. She flinched slightly. Or at the Burrow, now, since Bill had moved back in with his family to be with them in their "time of grief," as a wizard had said at Ron's funeral. She hoped she was not being insensitive, for she certainly missed Ron, but she thought they had had quite enough time. And didn't weddings cheer everyone up, anyway?

"Well, fortunately, they won't have to be without you, now."

On second thought, I think I'll skip the trip to the Burrow. Between Fleur and Harry, I don't think I'm up to it.

"So true," Fleur smiled to herself. "And once Bill and I marry, they will never have to be without me again."
