Trip to LA - Part 1 - The Grove
So today started out with me and my friends heading up to LA from SD at around 10:30 in the morning. We head to The Grove first to see if we can catch them interviewing Jim and Michael, but surprisingly, when I arrived, they were indeed interviewing ‘Michael’, just not the Michael we had in mind (they were interviewing Michael Ealy). Then, I saw someone standing there, wearing a very familiar hoodie, yes, it was Stella aka stoppretendingthereisaplot on tumblr. Ella asked a crew member about Jim and Michael and was told that Jim would be here at 2:45pm, so seeing we still have time, we went to get us some food.
At around 2ish I met up with another friend of mine from Vancouver that was in LA on vacation and we went back to where they would be having their interview. Turns out the interview was ‘private’ and it was on the second floor balcony of a restaurant. We were sort of disappointed first, but then the same crew guy told us that they will be walking up the front door/stairs to get onto the second floor, so the four of us just sat there and waited; it was around 2:30pm. Then we waited and waited, when no one showed at 2:45pm we just all assumed they were running late due to traffic, but then when they didn’t show at 3:30pm, we were getting pretty anxious. Then! Out of the blue, I looked over and saw a guy looking very much like Michael Emerson walking towards the restaurant, I remember saying “woa…is that Michael Emerson!?” to Ella and my Vancouver friend Elsie, and it was indeed Michael! But the three of us were too shocked to take any pictures and we just sat there and gawked as he walked into the restaurant and up the stairs.
We pretty much were on code-red-high-alert-camera-ready from then on, hoping to catch a glimpse of Jim arriving. Michael was getting ready for the interview and stood close the rail and we all called his name and he turned around and waved and allowed us to take pictures of him, he’s so cute! Then all of a sudden, Jim was there, already on the second floor and ready for the interview. He definitely went in through the backdoor!! You sneaky guy!
Then they did their interview, and after they were finished, a lady in orange (one of the hosts of Extra I believe) told Jim and Michael to turn around and they did and we totally got some awesome pictures (Which I’ll share tomorrow)! Then Michael left out of the front door again, and Jim disappears from the balcony (again).
