I thought hp_equality was a fantastic idea. I participated and donated. I also donated to help the Australian bush fire effort this year, and I was glad to do both. But honestly, my impression is that with the global economy as dismal as it is these days, most people can't afford to keep digging into their pockets and making donations on a regular basis. If I were a mod, I'd keep this comm for crisis situations such as the imminent passing of Prop 8, hurricanes, etc. That's when people are really going to rally over issues. Just my two cents.

I wonder if donors could select their own causes? Or maybe by category somehow - like me and so an so are writing for human rights, donate to one of these three charities

HPEquality - Haiti relief fund

Hi! Do you think it would be possible to get something going for the Haiti Relief fund (I know red cross has a specific fund for Haiti relief). I know it's not an equality issue, but it'd be nice to see what fandom could do for the Haitians.
