The How To List
Here is a simple introduction on how to join the Harry Potter Fandom Chat.
1. Go here: http://sites.google.com/site/harrypotterfandomchat/chatroom - it has the chatroom installed and ready to use
If you have one of the following programmes you can use this link: irc://irc.wyldryde.org/hpfandomchat
2.1. If you have MIRC
2.2. If you have a APPLE but want to use your own programme on the computer to chat, then I would recommend Ircle.
2.3. You should also be able to use Trillian to login.
A Begginer's Guide to Irc should you need more information on how to handle IRC.
Should you need any further help setting up either of the programmes, please comment and I'll extend the how to list with the answers.
How to register your nick
So you've joined the chat and want to make sure that no one grabs your nick? Simple.
Please type the following in your chat window:
/msg nickserv register yourpassword youremail
If you login through the website you just always have to put in your password that you've chosen. Should you login through one of the programmes mentioned above please type:
/msg nickserv identify yourpassword
Every time after logging in, otherwise it will change your status to a guest.
How to Private Chat
Just double click on the nickname and a new window should pop up.
